Job summary

The Medical Education department is looking for enthusiastic individual to join our busy department. We require a hard working, people friendly individual who has exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly.

This role will keep you both busy and challenged. You must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, the ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.

You will need to be adaptable, reliable and a team player with previous staff management experience.

Main duties of the job

The MEA will work co-operatively across a number of teams, to provide efficient and effective administrative and project support, with some secretarial responsibilities, to key functions within the Department. The MEA will develop detailed knowledge, skills and expertise in at least one designated, complex service area(s) to enable the Department to meet statutory / mandatory / HEE and other requirements in line with Department strategic goals and priority needs. The MEA will proactively liaise and interface with both clinical and administrative colleagues in both educational and clinical contexts and settings in order to fully integrate and enhance department services in support of our students, trainees and other doctors.

The expected focus of this role, certainly in the first instance, will be post-graduate administration. The role holder will need to become very familiar with postgraduate medical education and can expect this to form the most substantial area of work.
