Job summary

We are recruiting to the post of Clinical Information Systems (CIS) Lead for Critical Care and Perioperative Services. As CIS lead you will be responsible for the development, support and maintenance of key CIS within Critical Care and Perioperative Services. You will support users of these systems in the adoption of new system functionality within existing IT systems, work with suppliers, project team members, operational staff and managers to ensure continuity, seamless changeover and continuous improvements are met.

The CIS Lead will have high levels of self-motivation and act as an agent of change. You will forge close working relationships with clinical staff and provide technical services that are dependable and seamlessly integrated with the healthcare services provided to patients. The post holder will be required to work Trust wide.

Main duties of the job

To clinically develop, configure, implement and maintain Computer Information Systems associated with Critical Care and peri-operative services. Providing training, support and ongoing monitoring of system use. Ensuring that requests for change are managed through a robust change management process.

o To collaborate with internal and external providers of IT services and systems in the implementation of a networked support system.

o To maintain credibility and flexibility as a competent practitioner in an ever-changing environment, while continuing to develop professionally in line with the demands of a responsive service focussed on the needs of patients.

o Responsible for communicating with departmental teams and other stakeholders to provide updates regarding project deliverables and ongoing, business as usual, requirements.

o Working within the Critical Care audit, quality and research team and the Trust information team to ensure consistency in information / data gathering and effectiveness of reporting: local and national.
