Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior TIA Coordinator post within the TIA/Stroke department at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. This post is for 37.5hours per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent administration skills and a confident approach to management & experience of leadership roles. The candidate should be able to adapt to a changing environment and show confidence , knowledge and experience in the use of hospital based IT systems.

Main duties of the job

Management of the TIA service.

Line management of TIA Coordinators.

Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical and audio typing support to Consultants and their teams where needed.

Work in a team based service providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service.

Act as point of liaison between patients, GP's, other staff and outside agencies.

Essential

  • Computer literate including Word and Excel and use of software packages eg, outlook for updating calendars NVQ Level 2, RSA level 3 or equivalent
  • GCSE in Maths and English or Equivalent

Desirable

  • Previous NHS/ administration experience

Skills

Essential

  • Previous experience of managing and supervising staff, including allocation of work, identification of training and development needs, performance management.
  • Minimum 2 years Administration experience
  • Able to communicate routine and sensitive information but understanding barriers to communication.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS systems, including All Scripts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
