Job summary
The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery unit is expanding to meet the needs of the population of East Kent. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Head & Neck Surgeon to join a team of 7 Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. The Trust is going through a period of redevelopment, having attracted national investment to deliver a critical care hub for Kent and Medway. A new 24-bed Intensive Care Unit has been built at the Willian Harvey Hospital, to include bespoke training facilities, including dedicated space for in-situ simulation training. The William Harvey site is also the Trauma centre for East Kent. Robotic Head & Neck surgery is offered through the Kent and Canterbury site which is also the vascular centre for Kent & Medway.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality Maxillo Facial Surgical patient services, including elective and emergency, outpatient, day-case and inpatient management.
The Consultant will be responsible for prioritising patient lists for outpatient appointments and admissions within the nationally defined targets. Post holder will be encouraged to develop further specialist interests as part of general OMFS commitment in addition to Head and Neck Oncology sub specialty interest.
