Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ophthalmology/Optometry Department for a band 3 Administrator to assist the Optical Service Administration Manager and Optometrist Principal this is part time 7.5 hours per week.
This role involves providing administration support to the multi disciplinary ophthalmology team comprising of the Optometry, Orthoptic, Nursing and Technician teams.
Main duties of the job
The role involves ensuring that the rota for the optometric sciences team is checked off against Allscripts so that clinics across the 6 hospital sites are staffed correctly. When clinics have to be cancelled due to sickness or equipment failure the administrator may have to complete a CMF and then contact patients inform them of the changes.
This role deals with patient enquiries both face to face and over the telephone.
This post also provides administration support for the contact lens service, optometric science team including virtual services. This would include outcoming clinics, CMFs, contact lens ordering.
In addition this role organises the ordering via Agresso and My Supply chain for the teams requirements. This role also reports any domestic or estate faults through to the relevant helpdesks.
