Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Registered nurse with proven clinical skills and frontline management credibility within Children's services to be appointed to a more senior management and leadership role. They will support, enable and lead a ward team of registered and non-registered staff within our Children services in delivering high standards of quality, safe care and good patient experience. They will be professionally tenacious, appropriately qualified, motivated and looking for the next opportunity to influence Children's care, ensure a safety culture and guarantee a high standard of delivery of care is delivered to all children and their families. Main duties of the job

To manage a complex agenda of leading the ward/unit team ensuring a therapeutic environment for care and a positive patient experience, maintaining and reporting clinical standards / metrics, managing a ward team of nursing and support staff and ensuring competence, and acting as an expert practitioner.

To maintain credibility and flexibility as a competent practitioner an ever changing environment, while continuing to develop professionally in line with the demands of a responsive nursing service focussed on the needs of patients.

To provide support and assistance to the Matron and Senior Matron to provide a quality nursing service within your area, with forward thinking, autonomous nurses, managed within the financial and organisational envelope of East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust.
