As a Ward Manager on Richard Stevens Ward, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team. This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding role, providing the opportunity to work on a busy and dynamic ward and to gain a variety of skills and experience.
Main duties of the job
As a Ward Manager you will be expected to:
- Provide strong visible leadership to all staff within the ward and across the organization, ensuring that nursing practice is up to date, evidence based and cost effective.
- Develop the ward teams, individuals and self to enhance performance, ensuring that staff training needs to meet organization objectives.
- Ensure a strong team focus on high quality, clinically effective healthcare that meet our patients needs, is embedded in ward culture.
- Manage resources within agreed budget,
- Maintain communication networks at all appropriate clinical and managerial level.
The ideal candidate will have had minimum 2 years as a Band 6 in an hospital setting and will need to demonstrate a pro-active and adaptive approach to leadership and management with a positive mind-set and hold an interest in developing the workforce. They must be an effective communicator, who can demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure, managing staff and delivering patient focused care. They will be able to demonstrate flexibility to meet the varied demands of the role as required.
