Job summary
Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) Band 7 Service Manager to cover 4 East Kent Hospital sites; Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother (QEQM), Kent and Canterbury Hospital (KCH), Buckland Hospital in Dover and William Harvey Hospital (WHH).
It's an exciting time to join the UTC within the Urgent and Emergency Care Group. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Service Manager to join our caring and progressive team.
As the Service Manager of the Urgent Treatment Centre's you will take lead responsibility, liaise with the Matron's on the sites and attend relevant operational meetings and disseminate information to team members. This is a full- time position working with both the Operational and Clinical teams within the UTC's, whilst working alongside our Urgent and Emergency Care colleagues. We are looking for the right person to be energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic person, clinically competent, team player, strong leadership qualities.
Main duties of the job
Line management of Admin Managers including, professional Development of Admin Managers
- Delivering training to Admin Managers as required including new starter training
- Oversee day to day operations across 4 sites including participation in operational huddles and daily problem solving
- Gather and analyse performance data
- Plan, implement and manager projects and improvements
- Ongoing ideas and experiments to optimize service and patient care experience
- Support and eliminate barriers for frontline teams' rapid experiments.
- Collaborate with the GM to develop the service, align with true north and grow the service team
- Research and resolve complaints. Escalate trended complaint topics, safety concerns to GM, Directors or Quality Leads
- Review and Manage breaches daily. Develop Admin Managers to problem solve around breach mitigation.
- Liaison between staff and outside agencies
- Ensure national standards and objectives are met
- Leadership and guidance around standardized operations, performance and patient care excellence
- Develop a culture of inclusivity in collaboration with other care group leaders to ensure ongoing team work and improvements.
- Manage operations in a way that ensures financial controls are met and demonstrate resource stewardship
- Staff appraisals
- Supporting Senior Management in alerting to any issues regarding assigned sites
