  • He/ she/ they will have at least 3 years technical IT practitioner background, including a minimum of 18 months experience in Data Centre / management, Experience in Virtual Server Environments specifically pertaining to System Administration of Debian based Linux Distributions. Previous experience of assisting with the delivery of key targets, within a largescale Data Centre Management / Server Hosting environment is essential.

  • The Data Centre Engineer will require extensive knowledge and understanding of the Trust's IT infrastructure architecture, including the framework and principles on which servers, networks, operating systems and applications are based. An understanding of bespoke applications, both clinical and non-clinical. A detailed knowledge of ITIL version 3 is essential. He/ she/ they will possess a detailed knowledge of technologies including: Linux Servers (Primarily Debian Distributions) Administration of Linux Servers using tools such as Ansible, Containerisation (Docker/ Kubernetes), Compute Power, Cloud Management, Backup and Recovery (Commvault/ Veam), Database Administration (Including but not limited to: Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Postgres), Virtualisation (Specifically VMWare), Windows Servers (2016/2019), Server Antivirus (Trend), Server Hardening, Microsoft Active Directory (User/ Group Management, Group Policy Management) Hosting and Management, Storage, SAN/ NAS, Archiving (Veam), File Store, Web Servers (Some used include IIS, Apache, NGINX) Application Server Hosting (Combination of the above)
