Job summary

The Medical Day Unit is currently looking for two Healthcare Support Workers to join our department; the successful candidate will need to be a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who strives to provide outstanding patient care and would like to join our friendly, hard-working team.

If shortlisted, you will be invited to an Assessment Centre at Kent & Canterbury Hospital on 22nd July 2023 where you will undertake an English and Maths test before being interviewed if successful. Please note that we will only interview applicants who have been invited.

The Medical Day Unit (previously Ambulatory Care) at Kent & Canterbury Hospital provides an invaluable service to patients requiring infusions, transfusions and other treatments and tests within a day setting. We work closely with multiple specialities, GPs, consultants and other hospital departments to reduce hospital admissions and to deliver exemplary care to those who require it.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant on the Medical Day Unit, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide clinical care to patients to an extremely high standard, ensuring the Trust policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships within the unit as well as at a multidisciplinary level in order to provide and maintain outstanding patient care.
  • Be willing to undertake regular training in order to learn and develop as well as consolidating existing skills.
