Job summary
We are extending our waiting list team with another waiting list co-ordinator who has a sound administrative ability and excellent typing/keyboard skills along with interpersonal skills to take on this new role.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of an efficient team providing an excellent administrative service within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department based at QEQM Hospital in Margate. A sound knowledge and experience in the use of hospital-based IT systems and understanding of patient pathways would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
This is a full time position however we would consider part time and/or flexible working for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for the day to day compiling of waiting lists, the co-ordination of scheduling patients and the effective utilisation of theatre lists on a day-to-day basis. To ensure this is appropriately managed this will require providing and receiving complex and sensitive information. They will manage waiting lists ensuring compliance with local and national targets and the Trust's Patient Access Policy. The co-ordinator is responsible for the administrative role within the patients' pathway from the decision to treat electively, to the date of admission and post surgery.
The individual will operate generic administrative roles in absence of their colleagues to ensure a robust administrative service is provided
