Cardiology Specialist Nurse - Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic - Band 7

Main duties of the job

Assessing chest pain.

Diagnosing angina and recommending treatment and diagnostic investigations

Interpreting results. Working closely with the wider cardiology team.

  • oRegistered professional (NMC) with evidence of regular updating
  • oEvidence of significant professional development and experience with a focus on cardiology, particularly heart disease

Desirable

  • Experience working in RACPC Non-Medical Independent prescriber
  • Nurse practitioner qualification or equivalent Level 6/7

Experience

Essential

  • oExtensive clinical experience in the management of CHD and Cardiology
  • oExperience of clinical audit.

Desirable

  • Evidence of ability to develop services and influence outcomes
  • Proven commitment to cardiology nursing by evidence of professional development.

Knowledge

Essential

  • oIV competent
  • oCannulation and venepuncture competent
  • oILS competent

Desirable

  • Recent teaching experience at senior nursing level
