Job summary
Are you an experienced Children and Young Peoples Nurse looking to progress into leadership and management and are ready to take on the role of Children and Young People's Lead Nurse with a focus on quality, governance and patient safety.
We are looking for a highly experienced individual who has substantial experience in working with children and young people in a range of settings and is keen to ensure the highest standard of nursing care is delivered to Children, Young People and their families / carers.
You will be motivated, self-directed, ambitious and a good team player and effective leader. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to promote the Trust value of Respect.
The role is diverse and you will also be responsible for ensuring quality, governance and patient safety is effectively managed across the Children'sNursing team at St Helier in partnership with the Matrons
You will be part of the Trust Children's Senior Nursing Team and will work closely with the Associate Director of Nursing, Head of Nursing and Matrons in Paediatrics
Main duties of the job
- Provide leadership and accountability for the Children and Young People's nursing service
- Secure the highest standards of clinical care in the specific services within your remit over the 24-hour period by providing strong professional leadership and line management to clinical staff.
- Have day to day responsibility for all operational issues on site, ensuring SITREP reporting and OPEL's are completed and escalated accordingly
- Assist in ensuring the delivery of equitable front line support mechanisms and services to users and carers that are person centred, risk managed and driven by national, organisational, divisional and Trust strategies in partnership with other agencies.
- Set clear expectations to all members of the nursing team in delivering compassionate care, ensuring the Trust value of Respect is promoted
- Have management responsibility for the designated clinical staff providing clear, visible leadership to create a culture of care, compassion, creativity and candour which is committed to improving the service user experience.
- To work with the Divisional Management Team and Senior Nursing Leadership Team to drive forward quality, safety and ensure financially effective services.
