Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse in our gynaecology outpatient department. We are looking for a caring and motivated nurse preferably with experience in a relevant specialty to join our team and work throughout the gynaecology clinics.

We would welcome applications from nurses with a keen interest who wish to develop a career in Women's Health.

We value kind and compassionate nurses who feel they are able to offer a holistic approach to women, accessing our specialist services.

The work pattern will cover core hours Monday to Friday with some weekend working to ensure that the service needs are met. However flexible working patterns will be considered

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary team ensuring safe care of the highest quality in this demanding environment. It is important that you can establish a good rapport and can offer emotional support to women accessing our services.

Junior staff will take responsibility for managing and co-ordinating the unit in the absence of more senior staff and be involved in training and supervision of junior staff as required.

At all times you will be expected to be a safe and effective practitioner providing patients and relatives with high quality nursing care.

In all clinics the nurse will assist the Consultant or Specialist nurse in a range of clinics whilst giving women support, and ensuring the effective day to day management of the services. Staff will be supported to achieve competencies in each clinical area.

There will be opportunity to take part in audit and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings.

The diversity of the clinical specialities will enable the successful candidate to gain a range of experience in Women's Health.
