Job responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain agreed standards of nursing care with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure that nursing care is patient focused and that patient dignity and privacy are maintained at all
- Ensure due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients and colleagues and that equal opportunities are
- Take an active role in maintaining effective communication with all disciplines, patients and
- Takes responsibility for a group of patients as the named nurse
- Able to assess the short term needs of the area and ensure they are met. Understands how to seek advice and support from outside the clinical area
- Maintain up-to-date accurate nursing records, ensuring that confidentiality is respected at all times
- Work with nursing and other healthcare professions, patients and their relatives/carers to assist in the timely discharge from the Centre through appropriate discharge planning in conjunction with the Discharge Co-
- Able to use reflective practice as a method of ensuring that appropriate effective nursing care is delivered to each

- Assist the ward manager in managing the resources required in the provision of care, with an awareness of the financial implications of all
- Take responsibility for the ward/department for rostered shifts including the deployment of staff when ward manager not available.To develop an understanding of Clinical Governance/Risk
