Neonatal staff nurse

Job summary

Due to internal promotion we seek to recruit an enthusiastic band 5 nurse to work in our small and friendly team. This rarely available opportunity is open to paediatric and adult nurses alike. It is especially suitable to nurses with prior neonatal experience overseas who wish to undertake the UK accredited neonatal course.

We are a level 1 Neonatal unit funded for 6 special care cots. Caring for premature babies from 34 weeks gestation and term babies requiring enhanced levels of care. We also have a level 2 LNU on the St Helier's site for babies from 27 weeks onward. Opportunities are available to work on both sites.

Main duties of the job

- Direct care for babies from 34 weeks onwards requiring thing such as short term ventilation, CPAP, phototherapy, invasive lines and feeding support.

-Work with families to empower them to become the primary carers and partners in care for their babies.

-Competent in administering drugs and utilising equipment.
