We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, compassionate, and suitably experienced specialist Lead nurse to join our dynamic and motivated Pain Management team at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. This is a senior post working as part of a multi-disciplinary team across inpatient and outpatient settings to deliver acute and chronic pain services.

Main duties of the job

The role will encompass all aspects of acute and chronic pain management. One key aspect is to provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary pain team and expert professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers.

To provide managerial and professional leadership in providing a high quality, evidence-based pain service across Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, meeting the needs of both inpatients and outpatients.

To ensure compassionate, safe, high quality clinical care is provided to patients and carers accessing the pain service by promoting and maintaining effective clinical governance, and by effectively leading staff by example and meaningful supervision.

The post holder will Lead and develop a pain management service that is responsive to changing requirements and informed by an understanding of local population health needs, agencies and networks.

They will practice autonomously using advanced practice skills to assess, treat and manage the patient's pain pathway providing patient-centred quality care.

They will be responsible for leading a pain service team of nurses to deliver specialist clinical practice, supervision and support with structured teaching for multidisciplinary professionals.
