Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our St Helier acute adult dietetic team on a temporary basis for 12 months to cover a maternity leave. This is an exciting chance tojoin our friendly, informal department which provides dietetic services to St. Helier Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital for children, the South West Thames Renal unit and the diabetes centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join our dynamic team. There will be opportunities for cross site working on our Epsom site.This is an excellent opportunity to gain a range of Dietetic experience in a supportive environment. The successful candidate with provide support to a small team of 3 Dietitians and work alongside the team lead on the Epsom site. They will cover a caseload of mixed complexity patients and will also be the lead Dietitian for Parenteral Nutrition in the Trust. They will also have the opportunity to cover an oncology outpatient clinic month.We actively encourage personal development and provide support to develop your CPD skills. The department currently provides training for placement 1, 2 and 3 students and you will participate in this as part of the team.
Main duties of the job
To lead and manage the St Helier Adult Dietetic service.
To provide a highly specialist dietetic Nutrition Support service to adult inpatients and outpatients at Epsom and St Helier Hospital.
To work alongside all members of the dietetics department ensuring the delivery of a high quality service that satisfies professional standards and fulfils requirements for clinical governance.
To be responsible for the organisation, management, evaluation and development of the acute dietetic service, and the provision of formal and informal supervision to new graduates and less experienced dietitians, non- registered staff members of the team, and students
To collate and submit monthly clinical statistics to the Dietetic service lead and the Head of therapies.
