Job summary
To provide an efficient, effective and positive service at SWLEOC and treat every patient in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.To answer telephones in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring that all telephones are answered and that all enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and courteous manner, to record any messages clearly and accurately delivered to them promptly.To be responsible for the booking of outpatient appointments and toserve as a contact for patients accessing our services. The role is therefore responsible for setting high standards of patient care by enacting the Trusts values at all times.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of a team ensuring that patients are scheduled efficiently for outpatient appointments, investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures within national guidelines and in accordance with the trust's Patients Access, Booking and Choice Policy.This includes: NHS Constitution, waiting time standards; Department of Health admission guidelines and booking rules.
Ensure that patients are informed with reasonable notice, and that all relevant paper work is completed for given appointment. This includes ensuring that all elective attendances are promptly and accurately recorded on the appropriate PAS system(s) in a timely manner.
To assist in the scheduling of patients in accordance with principles and target waiting times as set out in the NHS Constitution and Health and Social Care Bill 2011 (e.g. 18 Week Referral to Treatment, Going Further on Cancer Waits etc.)
