Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

Physiotherapist - Orthopaedics

The closing date is 29 September 2025

Job summary

South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC) provides a range of Orthopaedic rehabilitation services. You will work closely together and in collaboration with other agencies to provide a comprehensive and dovetailed service for patients with rehabilitation needs.

This post involves regularly contributing to the prioritised 7 day service through rostered weekends and Bank Holiday.

Main duties of the job

Orthopaedic Physiotherapist Band 5

Working alongside the Clinical Therapy Lead and a forward thinking team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, you could play a pivotal role in the development and growth of a modernised approach to elective orthopaedics. We have recently implemented a new post operative physiotherapy outpatient service in the acute phase of the patient's recovery journey, ensuring robust oversight of their recovery and being able to individualise post op rehab based on need.

Excellent problems solving and communication skills are essential. With a dynamic 'can do' approach, you will have the opportunity to positively participate in a forever changing and busy environment. With the assistance of senior team-members, supervision, support and training of unqualified staff and students will be part of your role. You will be working in the inpatient setting as well as providing acute post-operative assessment in the out-patient clinics as part of the patient's recovery journey. Orthopaedic experience is essential and experience of MSK, intermediate care, community rehab, A& E or rapid response would be an asset.
