We have an opportunity for the correct candidate to be appointed to the role of 12 month Locum Consultant in Anaesthetics with General Anaesthesia
This post will be across both sites and cross site sessions are incorporated into the job plan

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 420,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care to a wider area covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.
The Epsom & St Helier Anaesthetic department is aligned with the STG teaching programme for medical students and the South Thames School of Anaesthesia training programme.
There is a well established Simulation teaching programme which may give opportunites for suitably qualified applicants.
We score highly in national Hip Fracture audit data and are one of the busiest 5 units in London.
We have a dedicated daycase Paediatric Hospital with visiting Surgeons from St Georges and a very busy Obstetric Unit which accepts outside referrals.
Main duties of the job
Principle Duties of the Post
The principal duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients:
1. To always, comply with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' as amended or
substituted from time to time.
2. To ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained.
3. To undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan in so far as practicable and in
agreement with your Clinical Director.
4. To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust
resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
5. On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust's corporate Induction (or
arranged Consultant Induction).
6. To participate in the Trust's Statutory & Mandatory training programme.
7. To be responsible for the Clinical Management of in and outpatients under your care.

- Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CESR or equivalent
- ALS training
- EPALS / APLS training
- Minimum of 6 months advanced higher obstetric anesthesia training/ or equivalent
- Higher ICM training or equivalent
- Higher paediatric anaesthesia training or equivalent

- Specialist interest in other anesthetic sub-specialties
