Specialist Occupational Therapist

Job summary

To work as part of the Sutton Health and Care Reablement Unit Team service to provide an inpatient rehabilitation service for service users within South West London. Post holders will be working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, and administrators, as well as the voluntary sector. The post holder will be primarily based on the SHC reablement unit with some community visits in order to provide a rehabilitation over a 7 day period.

Main duties of the job

To work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team in the assessment and management of a caseload of clients.

To plan, deliver and evaluate the treatment needs of clients with a variety of complex social and health care needs.

To participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team in developing and delivering high quality and innovative services to the local population within South West London.

To promote effective teamwork within the Sutton Health and Care Reablement Unit, delegating activities appropriately, to the benefit of the service users and service delivery.

As a therapist within Sutton Health and Care there may be the opportunity to work closely alongside and potentially rotate into other sectors of the organisation, such the rapid response hospital hub (the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit and Acute wards of St Helier Hospital), rapid response community and intermediate care (home based care).
