Job summary
The post holder will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support within the Paediatric Safeguarding team based at St Helier Hospital with a drive towards continuous improvement.
Based within this specialty clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients' pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge.
The post holder will provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that every effort is made to meet statutory targets for children on a Safeguarding/Special Education Needs pathway.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and a knowledgeable point of contact for parents/carers.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support relevant to Child Protection, Looked after Children, Special Educational Needs and the Community Paediatrics service. Tracking patient pathways on the database and production of activity reports.
- To be a point of contact within the department supporting requests from external agencies for medical advice on child protection, looked after children, special educational needs and Community Paediatric matters and to action the outcome according to protocol.
- To support the collection and collation of statistical information and to provide information for management purposes as requested.
- To support with incoming correspondence from external agencies relating to child protection, looked after children, special educational needs and Community Paediatrics. This will include retrieving medical records and arranging doctor support where appropriate.
