Job summary

Emergency Department Receptionist/Administrator(Band 3)

Are you looking for a new challenge?

We are currently seeking flexible, enthusiastic part-time staff to join our friendly team. We are seeking people who are looking for a minimum of 15 hours per week. The successful applicant will be expected to cover a variety of shifts over a 24-hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year period.

The shift times are currently - 07:30 to 17:00, 08:00 to 18:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 16:00 to 00:00, 17:00 to 22:00, 18:00 to 23:00, 22:00 to 06:00 and 23:00 to 07:30.

The current vacancies are mainly for evenings, nights and weekends

Weekends, nights and bank holidays are part of our 24-hour rota within our busy Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre at Epsom Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to support front-line care in our local community.

Main duties of the job

Main responsibilities include:

  • Booking in Patients
  • Answering telephone queries
  • Discharging patients
  • Booking Fracture clinic appointments, scanning, dealing with queries from relatives and patients
  • Reception duties

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent in English Grade C or above

  • NVQ level 2 Buisness Admin or Customer Care
  • ECDL

Experience

  • Experience in reception/customer care duties
  • Experience of patient administration work in a healthcare setting

  • Previous experience in a ED/ healthcare setting

  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills and dealing with difficult situations
