Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiology team at Epsom & St Helier Hospitals on a fixed term contract.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our administrative team and support with coordination and scheduling of an expanded programme of work, with a specific focus on helping support developments across our Heart Failure service.

The post holder will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and a knowledgeable point of contact.

Qualifications and Further Training

Essential

  • Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above.

Desirable

  • ECDL
  • NVQ or working towards NVQ or equivalent.
  • A Level in English

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of using a full range of IT systems and software

Desirable

  • Experience working in a similar role in a hospital/health care setting.
  • Experience working with DictateIT, iPM, ICM, iFIT, Mckesson
  • Experience of patient administration work in a healthcare setting

Knowledge

Essential

  • Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard.
  • Knowledge of NHS service provision including national waiting time standards
  • Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets e.g. PAS, Excel or similar applications
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles
  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • Understanding of principles of Equality and diversity
