The new Satellite dialysis unit, based in Croydon consists of 28 dialysis stations and has a capacity of 130 patients to start with.
Main duties of the job
Haemodialysis Sister/ Charge Nurse - Band 6
A New Band 6 position has arisen to support the newly built Croydon Dialysis Unit (CDU). The new satellite dialysis unit is based at Croydon University Hospital but is managed by the Renal Unit at St Helier Hospital in partnership with Renal Services UK.
The Renal Unit has been offering renal replacement therapy for 50 years and as a tertiary renal referral centre, the unit is one of the largest in England.
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Renal Nurse with excellent dialysis and leadership experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to dialysis patients as well as ensuring an excellent learning environment for patient and staff.
With the support of the Clinical Matron and Lead Clinicians, the successful individual will need to participate in relevant projects and ensure strict compliance with specific infection and dialysis guidelines in order to develop the service.
The post holder must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the capacity to work autonomously as a clinical expert. Required for this role is substantial renal nursing experience, passes in renal degree modules or the ENB 136 certificate and have a keen interest in advance dialysis practice. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
