Job summary

The post holder will support the Lead Nurse Adult Safeguarding to ensure that practitioners meet their duties to address the needs of adults at risk of harm. This will be through effective leadership, assisting in monitoring and maintenance of robust adults at risk collaborative interagency working and contributing to adults at risk governance.

The post holder will work with the safeguarding practice educator to develop and deliver training programmes.As an integral part of the Trust's safeguarding services, the post holder will provide support and act as an advisory resource to staff. She/he will assist the Associate Director of Safeguarding and The Lead Nurse Adult Safeguarding to ensure that safeguarding provision for adults at risk continues to be 'Core Business' for the Trust. Develop processes in accordance with identified need and legislation. The safeguarding team works with the ethos of 'Think Family'

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the safeguarding adult's team for a Specialist Nurse for Adult Safeguarding. The post holder will be at the forefront of safeguarding our most vulnerable adult patients and working with staff on both Trust sites and other agencies to ensure best practice in Adult Safeguarding. They will have the opportunity to develop their career, training skills and knowledge in all areas of Safeguarding, working closely with colleagues in the children's Safeguarding and learning disability/community teams to support the 'Think Family' agenda.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, hardworking nurse with a passion for changing cultures and ensuring high standards of care across the safeguarding adult agenda, including adults at risk of abuse, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Domestic Abuse

The post holder will be significantly visible in the organisation and be able to utilise their excellent communication skills to provide advice and support around Safeguarding issues, to all staff across ESTH. As part of this varied role, the successful applicant will also have a responsibility for leading on MCA and DOLS agenda across the Trust.
