Job summary
The post holder is required:
To be responsible for the development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical governance systems and processes which support the monitoring of key quality indicators in all Radiology services.
To develop, maintain and monitor mechanisms which improve the quality of patient safety within the Radiology department. This involves leading and developing staff safety activities and across the patient journey supporting the development of the overall clinical governance and quality agenda.To provide managerial leadership for incident management including root cause analysis investigation of Serious Untoward Incidents.
To lead on ensuring the implementation of national policy directives/national evidence based practice in relation to the quality agenda, providing specialist advice and support to clinicians as appropriate.
Will liaise closely with the Risk Manager, clinical leads within the radiology department (radiographic and radiological) and other clinical governance colleagues internal and external to the Trust.
The post holder will be expected to ensure that patient safety is improved and will lead on the implementation of national evidence based practice.
The main aims of the post will be the continued development of robust systems for organisational learning from Serious Incidents (SI's), review of clinical action plans and further development of the Clinical Risk Assessment and Risk Register processes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the radiology department at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals.
The post holder will support the Head of Radiology in maintaining and driving forward quality, patient safety and Governance.
As the Radiology Quality Manager, you will preferably have clinical experience. You will work with all clinical and non-clinical teams whilst working very closely with the Divisional Management team. You will be involved in training staff in the management of the risk register, incidents and complaints whilst ensuring a culture of being open and honest is maintained with patients and staff.
The successful candidate will lead on embedding learning from complaints and incidents across the Division and will write reports to reflect this. Excellent communication skills are essential along with being solution focused and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities on a day-to-day basis.
The successful candidate will also have excellent leadership skills enabling them to inspire, motivate and influence colleagues.
