Applications are invited for the position of a Senior Clinical Fellow in Urogynaecology. The post is for an initial 12-month term.
This fellowship post provides therefore excellent training opportunities for any senior trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the UK, EEA or from overseas who wishes to develop their urogynaecology clinical/surgical skills.
The candidate will be expected to participate in on-going audits and in research programmes in the department. There is scope to develop skills in research and publications. We expect the candidate to work towards publications in the field and this will be supported with time and resources.
The fellow in Urogynaecology will work within the Urogynaecology service. The service places strong emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach to female pelvic floor dysfunction and there are close links between the department and affiliated specialties within and outside the Trust.
The on-calls will be at a registrar level (ST 5-7) and there is an expectation that the candidate has the skillset/experience to work at this level. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the on-call rota with regular fixed sessions (on-call commitment on Labour Ward and acute gynaecology) as Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The successful applicant must provide evidence of competency at registrar level in emergency obstetrics.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work with professional colleagues and local managers in the efficient running of the Service. He/she will be expected to participate in the Trust's governance and maintain their CME/CPD. He/she will also have a commitment to participate in the Trust's professional development activities.
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large 768 bed acute Trust serving South West London and Surrey. It comprises one acute hospital in Carshalton and a District General Hospital in Epsom, a dedicated children's hospital, Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a private patient unit and provides services from a number of support hospitals.

We also play an active role in the local healthcare economy, and are the lead provider in two innovative health and care partnerships.
We have partnered with CSH Surrey, the three GP federations in the Surrey Downs area, and Surrey Council (who are an associate member), to provide adult community health services. This innovative partnership is called Surrey Downs Health and Care.
In Sutton, we have joined forces with the London Borough of Sutton, Sutton GP Services and South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust to provide adult and children's community health services and sexual health services to local people. Together, we are called Sutton Health and Care.
