About us
In August 2022 there were changes to the cardiology curriculum and a requirement to dual accredit in General Internal Medicine. The potential impact of this will be to shortened training cardiology times, increasing trainee numbers and the impact of emergency/on-call commitments have resulted in a need to explore ways to increase the effectiveness of learning. We have received funding from NHS England to invest in state-of-the-art high-fidelity haptic simulation equipment together with 3D printed models of the Heart which allow in Cath Lab simulation using standard medical equipment to give a truly immersive experience. This role has been introduced to help develop a cardiac simulation programme in South London for all cardiology trainees.
