Job summary
Applications are invited for a new substantive 10 PA consultant role within South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
You would be joining a team of 24 enthusiastic nephrologists working out of a busy regional renal unit based at St Helier, providing renal care throughout South London and Surrey. The appointee will be based at St Helier Hospital and will spend two days a week at Croydon Hospital providing general nephrology clinics to renal patients in that area and caring for a cohort of satellite haemodialysis patient based there. The post also includes a major role in advanced kidney care, including a weekly clinic and multidisciplinary team meeting, based at St Helier and liaising with home therapies, dialysis services and vascular access as patients approach the need for dialysis.
All consultants are involved in the care of acute nephrology inpatients at St Helier and there is a commitment on a 1 in 12 basis to on call work supported by an SHO and Specialist Trainee.
We are a large unit with many different research and educational interests and are keen to discuss other specialist interests that candidates may have and wish to develop for the benefits of our patients and staff.
All applicants must have full registration with the GMC and be a holder of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of the award of the CCT or equivalent on the date of interview.
