Job summary
The Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor to join Primary Care Liaison Team (PCLS)team in BaNES. This is a newly created post. The post holder will provide clinical leadership in the team, help triage referrals, assess patients and make recommendations on care, advise colleagues on assessment and management, provide clinical supervision and management supervision to staff reporting to them. This post is supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist within the PCLS Team as well as a GP trainee.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will respond to medication queries from GPs via a digital platform; Work collaboratively with other services in BanES to facilitate transitions through the appropriate care pathway ; provide leadership to the Team; provide advice to MDT and GPs; Regular attendance at the PCLS Team MDT meetings whenever possible. ; Assess and make treatment recommendations during their outpatients in clinics. o To actively participate in team and personal case load management and supervision. o To liaise with other parts of the mental health services and GPs and non NHS organisations wherever applicable. o Write up all their notes using the Trusts Electronic Record system RIO which also records time and date of entry. The post holder is personally responsible for entering their notes onto the system themselves. o Ensure effective and timely documentation and communication of clinical decision making and management plans with GPs, patients and other relevant services. The post holder is responsible for typing their own letter and would be allocated an administrative support to support with communication of clinical decision to all the relevant stakeholders. o The post holder is expected to seek Section 12 approval, but this is not a requirement of this post.
