Job summary
We have a position available to deliver specialist psychological interventions to people seeking help for gambling, in a trauma-informed manner. The role will involve assessment, formulation and treatment, drawing on CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Family Interventions, both in group and individual formats. The role involves working as part of the MDT, participating in relevant meetings and processes, and supporting our wider network of partner organisations.
As Gambling services are a new development for the NHS we will provide support and training to help you in your role. There will also be opportunities to get involved in research and evaluation to help the service evolve and develop. The team work remotely with regular in-person meetings and a strong focus on staff wellbeing. The role will involve working at least one evening per week according to service needs.
Main duties of the job
- To provide psychological therapy in the Gambling Service including assessment and therapy both for individuals and groups as appropriate.oTo adopt approaches and deliver services in ways which are consistent with the core principles and practices of trauma informed care.oTo provide a specialist consultancy service to multidisciplinary teams and other agencies providing care for the client group.oTo collaborate with partner organisations and identify appropriate care pathways for patients with needs relating to Gambling Harms.oTo work jointly with colleagues within the Gambling service offering consultation, case management and case-based discussion and providing expert adviceoTo participate in Gambling Service referral processes and meetings.oTo participate in generic team duties as agreed by the Operational Manager and Clinical Lead as appropriate, to the needs of the service.oTo participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the Service.oTo maintain accurate records and to monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.oTo ensure timely recording of all data required by the Trust.oTo support the full implementation of care planning as appropriate to the needs of the service.
