We are looking to appoint a B7 Ward Manager for Elizabeth Casson House, Callington Road, Bristol. BS4 5BJ
The successful candidate will work with closely with the MDT, Modern Matron, Senior Practitioner and experienced ECH nursing team. As well as working collaboratively with in the Bristol inpatient management team.
This is a rewarding post where the ward manager is pivotal in ensuring standards and performance are maintained to the highest levels. The person we are looking for should be able to demonstrate key leadership skills to empower the nursing team as they strive to achieve standards of care in line with both the Trust and NaPICU guidance.
The role is dynamic and challenging and we are looking for someone who is highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic who can demonstrate an eagerness for the on-going development of the service.
Elizabeth Casson House is an 8-bedded psychiatric intensive care unit for women with a mental illness. This is the only female PICU in the trust so works with service users from the whole of AWP area, Bristol, South Glos, North Somerset, Bath Swindon and Wiltshire.
Main duties of the job
The role will incorporate managing and developing inpatient staff, being involved with clinical complex care reviews and decision-making, championing new ideas and facilitating them into practice. We are also looking for someone motivated and interested in continuing the reducing restrictive practice work the team has achieved.
You will be a registered Professional with post registration experience, including experience in a Band 6 position. You will have experience of working in a team and excellent communication skills.
You will often work under pressure and without direct supervision, so we are looking for someone confident and capable. You will prioritise tasks and manage your own workload, providing support to your colleagues when required. You will become an integral member of the team, working to ensure that every patient receives high quality care.
This role involves:
Planning and co-ordinating the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment
Roster management
Quality improvement objectives
Ensuring the ward complies with statutory regulations, current legislation and meets quality standards
Responsibility for efficient and effective use of nursing resources
