We are looking for Band 7 CAMHS clinicians. Our team has an Intensive Outreach service, as well as an Crisis and Hospital Assessment team. This advert is for one Band 7 clinician in each team.
We are a dynamic, supportive and creative team who have had recent investment meaning we are looking for a suitable candidate who can bring skills, experience and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children/ young people with complex mental health needs.
CIOT are committed to the development of our team and have regular access to a range of different training opportunities. We hold regular space for CPD and would consider other external training as part of workforce development.
Alongside this, our team promotes a culture of togetherness and actively promotes safety in difference. We regularly hold space to explore anti-oppressive practice and what this means to young people, clinicians and the wider healthcare service.
We promote wellbeing within our service, and hold a monthly space for this specifically within our team. This would also include external reflective practice, in addition to supervision.
This post involves a mix of shifts which is dependent on which post you are appointable too. Within both teams, you will be a key part of the leadership team which will involve supervision, service development and carrying out senior duties e.g Senior Shift Co-ordinator for the day.
Main duties of the job
If looking to work on our Hospital Assessment and Crisis Team your shift pattern would involve 9-5, 2-10, 4-12, as well as up to 3 overnight shifts to cover the Emergency Response Line. If looking to work on our Intensive Outreach Team, your shift pattern would contain shifts spanning 9-5 and 12-8. Both teams cover a 7 day period and you would be expected to work roughly one weekend every 4-5 weeks.
Hospital team
You will work in a both a clinical and leadership role which allows for development in a range of different environments. A main duty of the role, is to complete holistic assessments on young people who present to A&E/Hospital in mental health distress and support their journey through CAMHS or other signposting options as appropriate. A key area would be completing thorough risk assessments drawing on clinical experience and risk management models.
Intensive Outreach Team
You will work in a both a clinical and leadership role within our IO team which supports young people and families/carers at risk of Tier 4 psychiatric admission, or who CAMHs are struggling to engage within a locality model and are presenting with high-risk behaviours. We provide an intensive level of support ,which can be up to daily visits, and follow a CPA and goals-based outcome measure process to ensure we are by led by the young persons voice.

To assess, develop, implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions and to be responsible of the management of own caseload from referral to discharge.
To carry out specialist urgent assessments of a young persons mental health needs and associated risk when required including deliberate self-harm assessments.
To work collaborative with young people, carers and the wider system to develop safety plans to reduce risk and enable young people to access support in the community.
To hold an anti-oppressive approach at the heart of your practice and challenge oppressive and/ or discriminatory issues.
To work with children, young people and their families promoting opportunities for their engagement and involvement in formulations, care plans and evaluation of the service they receive.
To work jointly with staff from other agencies in direct work with children and young people and their families.
When appropriate, engage in joint work with other specialist CAMHS personnel as agreed with CAMH services manager.
