Band 6 Specialist Intensive Practitioner - S. Glos

The closing date is 23 June 2025

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Practitioner to join our team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, who is looking for a new challenge, working in an ever evolving service.

The S.Glos intensive team is a great place to work allowing you to develop excellent clinical skills, but also leadership skills which you may not get from other roles due to the fast paced and high acuity nature of the service. The team has nurtured many clinicians with personalised training options. Many of these clinicians have gone on to achieve promotions in the locality which has opened up roles within the team. The Band 6 clinician will work shifts, and this includes evenings and weekends. and a minimal rota of night shifts. You have the options to request some shifts and we also support flexible working. This is a part time post and part time applications, with flexible working agreements also being considered.

Main duties of the job

In a wide range of situations and locations to undertake the full range of activities required to deliver comprehensive mental health assessment, in an emergency for service users, who may be distressed and in crisis.

There will be a comprehensive induction to the role and a supported period of supernumerary to aid with transition.

This post is also open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP trust policy all newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will be recruited initially at Band 5 level, regardless of advertised role banding. All NQSW's are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within 2 years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case it may be extended for a further 2 years.

If you have been appointed to an advertised Band 6 role this will be an automatic progression, following confirmation of your successful ASYE completion. If you have been appointed to a Band 5 post you will then be eligible to apply for a subsequent Band 6 vacancy upon successful ASYE completion.
