Band 7 Senior Practitioner in Nursing - Bristol

The closing date is 19 May 2025

Job summary

The North Recovery service within SG is integrated with SG Council, so will undertake both health and social care responsibilities for the people they work with. The service provides ongoing assessment and comprehensive, multi-disciplinary focused interventions to individuals who are assessed as needing the ongoing involvement of a specialist mental health service based at The Elms in Thornbury.

This role will give you the opportunity to develop your leadership and quality improvement skills as a Nurse Senior Practitioner in the team.

The post-holder should have the relevant qualification, and experience of working with service users with complex needs. Experience of working within a Recovery setting would be essential.

We can offer opportunities to develop your specialist clinical skills through profession-specific support and development supervision. The team meet regularly for group case discussions and reflective practice, which is an essential part of the work.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of the Service are to:

  • Carry out more complex assessments of service users referred into the team.
  • Provide care pathway management for service users who are referred into the Recovery team and hold a caseload of service users requiring more complex nurse intervention.
  • Provide specialist clinical advice and recommendations about the most appropriate care pathway for individuals.
  • Support the team to work with service users through providing consultation, training, reflective practice and clinical supervision.
  • Oversee the Nurse duty and clinic responsibilities.

There will be some opportunity for direct clinical interventions in conjunction with related services and the opportunity to build relationships with partner agencies.

Wellbeing is prioritised. The team meet regularly for group case discussions and reflective practice, in addition to individual clinical supervision, which is an essential part of the work.

We work to a multi-disciplinary model where all members perspectives and views valued within a trauma informed, psychologically-minded service.
