Band 6 Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a innovative OT, experienced in working with people with complex mental health conditions to join the OT team based in NEW CMHT, Chippenham. You will be a versatile practitioner committed to delivering an outstanding service, you will be reflective, articulate and an excellent team worker.
Due to the complexity of our service user group and their needs we are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and forward thinking OT that has relevant post registration experience working in adult and older adult mental health services. You will need to demonstrate skills in leadership, supervision and service development.
We are particularly keen to attract someone who is confident in delivering OT standardised and non-standardised assessments and interventions, including ACLs, RTA, MOHO and sensory integration; focused on recovery and optimum levels of functioning.
The post is line managed by the Wiltshire OT Lead and you will have professional supervision from another OT. You will have clinical support from the Band 6 OT and OT Apprentice in the team and close and supportive links with OTs within Wiltshire.

Main duties of the job
Working as a key part of the team, you will routinely undertake all aspects of the Occupational Therapy process, including assessing each service user's occupational functioning; planning, implementing and reviewing appropriate interventions and treatment methods. You will be able to employ a range of individual and group interventions, which embrace social inclusion and recovery principles at their core.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for a caseload of service users for whom you will oversee the occupational therapy process. To deliver Occupational Therapy process of assessment, intervention and evaluation with reference to the relevant guidelines and legislations and with application to up to date and evidence based practice.
To work as an autonomous Occupational Therapist managing own case load.To provide standardised and non-standardised specialist assessments.To develop, facilitate and monitor individual as well as group intervention programme.To work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team attending relevant meetings and providing timely feedback.To delegate and supervise junior OT staff members.To support the service with the prioritisation, planning, development and delivery of a high quality occupational therapy service.
