Job summary

AWP Trust is pleased to offer this very exciting opportunity to join a Multi-Centre research team for a trial called Feeling Safe. This is a NIHR funded research programme led by the University of Oxford.

We are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated Research Practitioner/Nurse/Assistant with an interest in improving the lives of individuals with mental health difficulties through research.

We are recruiting for two Researchers to join the team to support the delivery of the study within AWP. You should be passionate and committed to developing psychological approaches for people with early stages of psychosis that make it hard for them to get on with their lives. This position would suit individuals with an interest in cognitive therapy, treatment innovation and clinical trials

The position is open to individuals with research, medical, nursing, psychology or other relevant backgrounds, and is suitable for people holding a first degree or equivalent in a healthcare-related field. Individuals will have an interest in clinical research and ideally have worked in a healthcare environment. Experience of working within a clinical research environment would also be beneficial.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the study within AWP on the Feeling Safe trial. This post is to help recruit patients with psychosis into the trial and conduct the repeat assessments. It will provide excellent experience of engaging individuals with psychosis; conducting clinical assessments; working within NHS services; and clinical trials methodology.

The Feeling Safe programme is a new six-month guided online programme for the treatment of persecutory delusions. By providing Feeling Safe in an accessible version for use across the NHS, we aim to achieve substantially improved outcomes for the large number of people with persecutory delusions who have not responded sufficiently to current treatment.

The post holder will be part of the AWP study team and AWP R&D Department, being responsible for the recruitment and research delivery aspects of the study. This will include participant identification, pre-screening and screening, consenting, conducting assessments and other related trial activities with participants. You will also be involved in support the set-up and smooth delivery of the trial across the AWP region.
