Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Swindon Talking Therapies (IAPT) Service to join our team as a Senior Employment Advisor. You will be responsible for supporting and developing the setting up, and day-to-day management of this newly created service which will offer specialist employment support to patients with common mental health problems to gain, return to, or retain employment.
This is a great chance to use your relationship building and management skills to gain in-depth knowledge of the local employment market linking with a range of schemes and initiatives to assist service users with their employment situation whilst leading a team of employment advisors.
Main duties of the job
You will supervise and caseload manage a team of employment advisors, and lead group/peer supervision sessions.
You will work collaboratively, developing excellent working partnerships with the Swindon Talking Therapy (IAPT) Therapists and other key stakeholders to promote knowledge of and referrals to the employment support service and to build up an extensive knowledge of the local labour market, support services and new initiatives.
You will be involved in the collation and maintenance of employment service specific data metrics and compile action plans based on these findings.
You should have previous experience in vocational training or employment support along with the ability to set up this new service, build relationships, and lead a new team of employment advisors. You will need excellent communication skills and empathy with and/or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues and an understanding of the barriers they face in accessing employment.
