Job summary

This is an opportunity for 12 months to contribute to the development of the multi-disciplinary Be Safe Service alongside the Clinical Team Manager/Clinical Lead and other senior clinicians, including involvement in clinical activity, staff supervision, training, and consultation. Be safe works with children and young people who have harmed sexually and their parents/carers and their support network. in providing evidence and trauma informed assessments and interventions. The service is highly regarded locally and nationally. The service places high value on staff support and development.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will have:

  • a Professional qualification and registration in either Social Work; Mental Health Nursing; Clinical Psychology; Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy or Counselling; Occupational Therapy; Family Therapy or other relevant professional qualifications.
  • an understanding and experience in working with children and young people who have engaged in risky behaviour and their parents/carers.
  • experience in working with those from diverse backgrounds.
  • experience of undertaking assessment and therapeutic interventions.
  • experience of providing training and consultation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-agency colleagues.

About us

Be Safe is a Specialist CAMHS multi-disciplinary team working with children and young people with problematic/harmful sexual behaviour, their parents/carers, family and support network. It delivers assessment and therapeutic interventions. The team endeavours to work in a holistic and draws from a range of approaches including systemic, trauma focused, CBT, humanistic, and strength based approaches. The service is primarily Bristol based but also offers a limited service to South Gloucestershire and on a spot purchase basis to other authorities.
