BANES is a forward thinking, friendly, supportive and passionate locality. This a great opportunity to join our energetic access services in a new senior clinical role. BANES access services are transforming to support patients in accessing the right care, at the right time, in the right place. This role will support this transformation working with AWP teams and system partners including 3rd sector, local authority and acute hospitals to lead and develop treatment pathways for people with mental health and/or learning disabilities. This role will work alongside the access services manager supporting the development of appropriate clinical models and interventions within the transformed access services and supporting the access teams with complex decision-making.
You will need to work well with complexity and change demonstrating the Trust's values, PRIDE, at all times . You will be responsible for planning and managing episodes of care including completing comprehensive assessments and implementing appropriate interventions to support patient recovery and flow through our access teams. You will be a source of expert clinical advice, leadership and support demonstrating advanced decision-making skills. BANES access services include Intensive, acute hospital liaison and PCLS although we envisage some structural changes as we continue to work with 3rd sector to design and align mental health access opportunities.
Main duties of the job
- Inspire, lead, develop and evaluate high quality, safe and effective care and treatment pathways for people with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities, building learning from your academic and clinical experience into your professional practice.
- Deliver, model and evaluate a high level of clinical intervention, to include complex decision-making, overseeing (and working to improve) treatment pathways, and promoting multi-professional working.
- Plan and manage complete episodes of care within your area of practice, undertaking independent comprehensive assessment and management of service user need to incorporate pharmacological and psychological interventions, making complex clinical decisions regarding service user management and clinical outcomes.
- Provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support to ensure the needs of service users and carers are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis and advanced decision making skills.
