Job summary
We are seeking a Psychology Graduate with previous experience of working as an assistant psychologist or equivalent with young people and their families, to support the psychology team at Riverside.
You will work as a member of the Psychology Team, working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), compromising of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Family Therapists, Physiatrists, Speciality Doctors, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Dance & Movement Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Administrators and Hospital Teachers.
You will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members of a multidisciplinary clinical team providing assessment, formulation and specific treatment interventions to young people and their families/carers, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will organise and drive the group and holiday program, delivering some of the groups. The post holder will also assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of ROM's and statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, project work and supporting the day to day work of the clinical psychologists on the unit.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems.
- To assist in the delivery of therapeutic groups with multi-disciplinary colleagues.
- To work with other staff to assess young people during their admission, to develop individualised intervention / treatment plans and regularly review their care.
- To undertake supportive work with carers, family members, health staff and other professionals.
- To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings and attend relevant clinical meetings by agreement with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Modern Matron.
