Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist, who is passionate about providing evidence based interventions to those with complex mental health difficulties in the community. Psychologists who have an interest in working from CBT and Systemic Family Therapy models are encouraged to apply.
The post holder will be part of the CBT stream and systemic Streams of therapy within the PTS. An interest in working with Complex Trauma presentations, will also be advantageous in this post. We would actively support the post holder to undertake further specialist training, for example in Diploma in CBT, CBTp and systemic family therapy.
South Glos Psychological Therapies Service, is a well-respected team within the locality and the wider trust. The service comprises of a multidisciplinary staff members including psychologists, Art Therapists, OTs, Social Workers, Nurses and Psychiatrists. The service places emphasis on the provision of evidence based therapies (CBT, DBT, MBT, Psychodynamic Therapies, Family Therapy, EMDR, Music and Art therapy) aimed at meeting the diverse needs of our service users, families and carers. As a service the South Glos PTS has a commitment to address issues of structural inequalities and oppression that often create barriers in the provision of equitable care for the service user groups in the Locality.
Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence based psychological intervention to a caseload of service users on the South Glos Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) caseload.
The team is co-located with the Recovery, EI and PCLS Teams, so the role will involve close liaison with MDT colleagues to consider suitable referrals and provide support to colleagues working in a psychologically informed way.

To provide a specialist consultancy service to multidisciplinary teams and other agencies providing care for the client group. To participate in generic team duties as agreed by the operational manager and Psychology Lead as appropriate, to the needs of the service. SERVICE GOVERNANCE To participate in service governance processes in the profession, ensuring a safe and effective service. To support and participate in multidisciplinary clinical audit. To liaise with other disciplines and agencies to ensure that best practice is shared. To promote the use of effective interventions in the service.

- Qualified Registered Mental Health Professional/Psychologist, Social Worker, Psychologist in final year of Doctoral level training programme
- Current relevant registration with a professional body (e.g. NMC or HCPC) OR in final year of Doctoral Psychology programme which will provide eligibility for HCPC registration
- Completion of BABCP Level 2 accredited training in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy leading to Practitioner Accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) or completion of appropriate training in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy with Full Practitioner Accreditation granted by BABCP.
