Job summary

As a member of the Psychology Team at Riverside you will work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), compromising of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Family Therapists, Physiatrists, Speciality Doctors, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Dance & Movement Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Administrators and Hospital Teachers.

The psychology team play an important role in providing specialist assessment, formulation and therapeutic treatment to the young people admitted to Riverside. We also hold psychological theory, thinking and practice within the Unit as a whole. This will involve supporting debriefs, team formulation meetings, attending weekly reviews, CPA's, providing supervision and reflective spaces for the wider team.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist clinical psychology assessment, formulation and treatment to young people aged 13 to 18 years, admitted to the unit. The young people admitted to the unit have severe, complex and/or enduring psychological or psychiatric difficulties.

The Riverside Adolescent Unit is a General Adolescent Inpatient Unit (GAU) based at Blackberry Hill Hospital, Fishponds, Bristol. The unit works with young people aged 13 to 18 years, experiencing severe, complex and/ or enduring psychological or psychiatric difficulties, which require more intensive Tier 4 intervention. There are 12 inpatient beds and 4 day patient spaces at the Riverside Adolescent Unit.

You will be a key member of and working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) compromising of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Family Therapists, Physiatrists, Speciality Doctors, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Dance & Movement Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Administrators and Hospital Teachers.

The team are a friendly multi-disciplinary team who are very psychologically minded and value the support and input from the psychology team.

  • DClinPsy or equivalent
  • Eligible for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status
  • Registered with HCPC

Experience
