The role:
We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to join our dynamic& established Board with a wide range of professional backgrounds &lived experience.
Are you:
a strategic senior leader with board-level (or equivalent) experience gained in complex, changing & multi-stakeholder environments.
a proven senior clinical leader, whether as a paramedic (or other allied health professional), nurse or medic including those in academia or research settings.
able to bring professional clinical insight & strong experience ofclinical governance as you would join our Quality Committee.
As a Non-Executive Director you will
be accountable to the public & our membership through our Council of Governors.
provide oversight, governance leadership& scrutiny as part of a cohesive & values-led Unitary Board.
demonstrate compassion for our staff & the communities we serve, promote the highest standards of integrity & corporategovernance, collective decision making &offer independentchallenge & support.

Main duties of the job
Constructively challenge & contribute to the development of strategy, providing objective judgement independent of management on issues facing the Trust.
Support & challenge the development of the Trust's values & standards ensuring the needs of patients & the wider community are understood and fairly balanced.
Contribute to the achievement of the Trust vision & alignment with core values, liaising & working with the Council of Governors.
Scrutinise the performance of executive management on meeting agreed goals & objectives, monitor the reporting of performance & contribute corporately to the work of the Board.
Ensure the highest standards of probity, integrity & governanceare met such that the Trust complies with the terms of its authorisation by NHS England, its constitution, relevant legislation, mandatory guidance & other relevant obligations.
Support entrepreneurial leadership within the Trust within a framework of prudent & effective controls, which enable risk to be assessed & managed.
Engage positively & collaboratively in Board discussion of agenda items.
Seek assurance overeffective operations of the Trust's wholly-owned subsidiary North East Ambulance Unified Solutions (NEASUS).
Act as an ambassador for the Trust in engagement with local, regional & national stakeholders, promoting & nurturing partnership working at local place level & with the North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care System.

From 01/04/25 If your role needs a DBS you'll be subject to salary deduction totaling £49.50, spread over first and second pay.
