Job summary

This post has neither Royal College or Postgraduate approval for training.The post is educationally sound and well supported, with excellent opportunities for gaining experience in the management of critically ill Neurosurgical patients. Main duties of the job

Clinical fellows will rotate between ward based duties as well as some operating theatre time and Neuro Critical Care duties. This necessitates close liaison and cooperative, flexible working with the other neuroscience junior staff and nurse practitioners. Your main role will be to consolidate the medical supervision and safety of care of the ward-based neurosurgical patients at Southmead Hospital.

The post-holder will be available to undertake teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors as required. In certain circumstances you may be required to cover a colleague's clinical duties in order that they may deliver teaching sessions.

The postholder will also be involved in audit, supervision of junior staff, research and administration as necessary.
