Job summary
Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Advanced Hip Arthroplasty Fellow at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre North Bristol NHS Trust.
The post is for 6 months, extendable to 12 months.
This is a busy fellowship with plenty of opportunity to attend theatre (4 days a week). Two fellows are present in the unit at any one time, working alongside the following consultants; Mr R Baker, Professor Blom, Mr Eastaugh-Waring, Mr Mehendale, Mr Webb, Professor Whitehouse.
The post is only suitable for trainees who have completed their higher surgical training, post CCT or internationally equivalent.

Main duties of the job
The post provides excellent exposure to all aspects of hip arthroplasty and hip arthroscopy. The fellow will be involved in primary hip and revision hip surgery with a large volume of infection work - as the regional infection unit is based at North Bristol NHS Trust. There is some exposure to primary and revision knee arthroplasty, but the focus of the fellowship is hip arthroplasty.
