Job summary

This full-time, fixed-term Breast Clinician role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to both symptomatic and screening services within North Bristol Trust. Secondment requests are welcome.

You'll work across the full breadth of breast imaging, including the NHS Breast Screening Programme, within a service known for high clinical standards and a strong commitment to patient care. Main duties of the job

  • The symptomatic breast work will involve one-stop clinics and further assessment of the recalled patient .
  • Participation at MDT meetings.
  • Depending on experience, the role may also involve ultrasound guided VAE'
  • There would be an expectation that the successful candidate would become involved in training, guiding, mentoring and continued professional development of Specialist Registrars in Radiology, Advanced Practitioners and Consultant Radiographers.

  • Full registration with GMC
  • Credential in breast disease management (NBIA,RCR) or within 3 months of completion
  • Post graduate qualification in mammography and breast ultrasound
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including CME

Work Experience

Essential

  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of breast patients
  • Ability to independently undertake all aspects of symptomatic and NHSBSP breast work
  • An understanding of the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit.
  • Knowledge & understanding of role of ethical committee

Personal Qualities

Essential

  • Ability to lead a team and form effective working relationships within a team.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop junior medical staff
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • To balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole.

  • oEvidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
