An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to lead our team providing a service to general surgery. The role is based at Southmead Hospital and will encompass adult inpatients in a range of surgical specialties.

Main duties of the job
You will be working alongside other established Band 7 colleagues within the surgical pathway which also includes burns & plastics, vascular surgery and renal. The caseloads are varied and cover the specialties ofsurgical admissions, elective surgery, urology, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery. We currently provide occasional ad hoc services to intensive care but aspire to developing a fullcritical care occupational therapy service within the pathway.
The role will support the surgical pathway lead to deliver an occupational therapy service within the specialty. This includes day to day operational management of the team and responsibility for a specialist clinical caseload within inpatient general surgery.
There is close team working and links with community partners in the wider health and care system to address needs at all stages of the clinical pathway, with occupational therapy playing a crucial role.
